Saignes is a commune in Cantal with 663 registered voters, the 36th largest of the département's 249 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 62.7% of them voted, fewer than the 71% across Cantal, and CONTINUONS ENSEMBLE POUR L'AVENIR DE SAIGNES won 15 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 32.3%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 24.4%, France Unbowed 11.6%. France Unbowed did 10 points worse here than across France.
