Donostia/San Sebastián is a municipality in the province of Gipuzkoa with 187,849 inhabitants, the largest of its 88 municipalities. Its council has 27 seats, and 14 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 EAJ-PNV came first with 27.9% of the vote and 9 seats; EH BILDU was second with 8. 59.5% of the 147,318 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
