Loiu is a municipality in the province of Bizkaia with 2,318 inhabitants, the 52nd largest of its 112 municipalities. Its council has 11 seats, and 6 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 EAJ-PNV came first with 65.4% of the vote and 8 seats, an absolute majority; EH BILDU was second with 2. 65.1% of the 1,810 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
