Plomelin is a commune in Finistère with 3,669 registered voters, the 43rd largest of the département's 276 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 66.3% of them voted, more than the 60.9% across Finistère, and Plomelin ensemble won 21 of the council's 27 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 34.1%, France Unbowed 19.9%, National Rally 15.5%. National Rally did 8 points worse here than across France.
