Hampigny is a commune in Aube with 182 registered voters, the 213th largest of the département's 431 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 52.7% of them voted, close to the 54.5% across Aube, and Liste d'action municipale "Vivre à Hampigny" won 11 of the council's 11 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 56.3%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 12.5%, France Unbowed 11.8%. National Rally did 33 points better here than across France.
