Mareil-sur-Mauldre is a commune in Yvelines with 1,429 registered voters, the 111th largest of the département's 259 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 61.9% of them voted, more than the 54.4% across Yvelines, and Mareil naturellement won 16 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 44.3%, National Rally 12.9%, Reconquête 11.8%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 17 points better here than across France.
