Naintré is a commune in Vienne with 4,506 registered voters, the 10th largest of the département's 265 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 58.4% of them voted, close to the 58.1% across Vienne, and the list led by Lydie Nicole Andree Barbottin won 20 of the council's 29 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 32.5%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 26.4%, France Unbowed 17.5%. National Rally did 9 points better here than across France.
