Châteauneuf is a commune in Vendée with 958 registered voters, the 149th largest of the département's 253 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 63.2% of them voted, more than the 59.4% across Vendée, and ENTREPRENDRE ENSEMBLE POUR CHÂTEAUNEUF won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 35%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 22.1%, France Unbowed 14.7%. National Rally did 12 points better here than across France.
