Aizenay is a commune in Vendée with 7,952 registered voters, the 11th largest of the département's 253 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 44% of them voted, fewer than the 59.4% across Vendée, and AIZENAY, VILLE DYNAMIQUE ET SOLIDAIRE won 33 of the council's 33 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 40%, National Rally 22.1%, France Unbowed 14%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 12 points better here than across France.
