Sainte-Maxime is a commune in Var with 11,700 registered voters, the 16th largest of the département's 153 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 44.3% of them voted, fewer than the 58% across Var, and SAINTE-MAXIME C'EST VOUS won 35 of the council's 35 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 30.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 27.5%, Reconquête 17.4%. France Unbowed did 13 points worse here than across France.
