Villeneuve-le-Roi is a commune in Val-de-Marne with 11,904 registered voters, the 30th largest of the département's 47 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 57.3% of them voted, more than the 50.7% across Val-de-Marne, and J'aime Villeneuve-Le-Roi won 30 of the council's 35 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 36.3%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 22.1%, National Rally 20%. France Unbowed did 14 points better here than across France.
