Santeny is a commune in Val-de-Marne with 2,965 registered voters, the 46th largest of the département's 47 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 59% of them voted, more than the 50.7% across Val-de-Marne, and the list led by Vincent Bedu won 21 of the council's 27 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 34.6%, National Rally 18.5%, France Unbowed 15.1%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 7 points better here than across France.
