Pierrelaye is a commune in Val-d'Oise with 5,807 registered voters, the 43rd largest of the département's 183 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 49.4% of them voted, close to the 50.1% across Val-d'Oise, and UN AVENIR POUR PIERRELAYE won 25 of the council's 33 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 32.2%, National Rally 23.4%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 22.9%. France Unbowed did 10 points better here than across France.
