Cordes-sur-Ciel is a commune in Tarn with 661 registered voters, the 98th largest of the département's 314 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 73.4% of them voted, more than the 62.4% across Tarn, and the list led by Patricia Marty won 11 of the council's 15 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 27%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 23.2%, National Rally 18.4%. National Rally did 5 points worse here than across France.
