Vimines is a commune in Savoie with 1,918 registered voters, the 39th largest of the département's 273 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 65.8% of them voted, more than the 59.2% across Savoie, and the list led by Pierre Grossi won 14 of the council's 19 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 30.9%, National Rally 22.2%, France Unbowed 15.7%. France Unbowed did 6 points worse here than across France.
