Meyzieu is a commune in Rhône with 23,898 registered voters, the 8th largest of the département's 266 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 52.8% of them voted, fewer than the 56.7% across Rhône, and the list led by Issam Benzeghiba won 30 of the council's 39 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 27.2%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 27.1%, National Rally 21%. France Unbowed did 5 points better here than across France.
