Dardilly is a commune in Rhône with 6,845 registered voters, the 28th largest of the département's 266 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 60.8% of them voted, more than the 56.7% across Rhône, and the list led by Patrice Crosnier won 22 of the council's 29 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 40.7%, France Unbowed 14%, National Rally 13.8%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 13 points better here than across France.
