Brussieu is a commune in Rhône with 961 registered voters, the 156th largest of the département's 266 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 74.3% of them voted, more than the 56.7% across Rhône, and ENSEMBLE POUR BRUSSIEU-LAGIE won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 30.4%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.7%, France Unbowed 14%. France Unbowed did 8 points worse here than across France.
