Famars is a commune in Nord with 1,816 registered voters, the 210th largest of the département's 647 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 66.3% of them voted, more than the 54.3% across Nord, and AGIR POUR FAMARS won 15 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 33.9%, National Rally 24.8%, France Unbowed 14.1%. France Unbowed did 8 points worse here than across France.
