Aniche is a commune in Nord with 6,820 registered voters, the 61st largest of the département's 647 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 52.7% of them voted, close to the 54.3% across Nord, and Aniche, Notre Ville dans le coeur et dans l'action won 25 of the council's 29 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 44.6%, France Unbowed 20.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 14.7%. National Rally did 21 points better here than across France.
