OEting is a commune in Moselle with 1,869 registered voters, the 85th largest of the département's 724 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 62% of them voted, more than the 53.8% across Moselle, and Ensemble pour Oeting- Continuons D'Agir won 18 of the council's 23 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 33.4%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 30.3%, France Unbowed 12.7%. National Rally did 10 points better here than across France.
