Casseneuil is a commune in Lot-et-Garonne with 1,792 registered voters, the 27th largest of the département's 319 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 67.7% of them voted, more than the 61.5% across Lot-et-Garonne, and the list led by Youcef Cherchari won 16 of the council's 19 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 24.7%, National Rally 23.9%, France Unbowed 22.6%. Others did 4 points better here than across France.
