Briare is a commune in Loiret with 3,885 registered voters, the 24th largest of the département's 325 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 59.8% of them voted, more than the 53% across Loiret, and the list led by Gabriel Denizot won 22 of the council's 27 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 28.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.4%, France Unbowed 20.6%. National Rally did 5 points better here than across France.
