About Cilaos

Cilaos is a commune in La Réunion with 5,071 registered voters, the 24th largest of the département's 24 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 74.8% of them voted, more than the 55.3% across La Réunion, and the list led by Laïla Nassibou won 23 of the council's 29 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 49.5%, National Rally 25.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 14.4%. France Unbowed did 28 points better here than across France.

Moved to today's national polls, our projection for the 2027 first round here has Jean-Luc Mélenchon ahead on 37.7%, with Marine Le Pen on 36.1%.
