Meylan is a commune in Isère with 14,831 registered voters, the 7th largest of the département's 510 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 63.4% of them voted, more than the 55.5% across Isère, and the list led by Joëlle Hours won 26 of the council's 33 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 39.2%, France Unbowed 19.3%, National Rally 11.3%. National Rally did 12 points worse here than across France.
