Niherne is a commune in Indre with 1,238 registered voters, the 23rd largest of the département's 240 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 66.2% of them voted, more than the 62.6% across Indre, and NIHERNE AVEC VOUS ET POUR VOUS won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.
