Manthelan is a commune in Indre-et-Loire with 1,121 registered voters, the 81st largest of the département's 271 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 66.2% of them voted, more than the 56.6% across Indre-et-Loire, and the list led by Gérard Bobier won 12 of the council's 15 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 30.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 28.1%, France Unbowed 16.3%. National Rally did 7 points better here than across France.
