La Garenne-Colombes is a commune in Hauts-de-Seine with 20,143 registered voters, the 22nd largest of the département's 36 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 56.4% of them voted, close to the 54.6% across Hauts-de-Seine, and Union pour la Majorité municipale won 33 of the council's 39 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 40.9%, France Unbowed 18.9%, Republicans 10.1%. National Rally did 14 points worse here than across France.
