Saugues is a commune in Haute-Loire with 1,421 registered voters, the 32nd largest of the département's 256 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 78.9% of them voted, more than the 62% across Haute-Loire, and Tous ensemble pour saugues won 15 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 28.9%, National Rally 26.1%, Others 12%. France Unbowed did 13 points worse here than across France.
