Couteuges is a commune in Haute-Loire with 193 registered voters, the 170th largest of the département's 256 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 60.1% of them voted, close to the 62% across Haute-Loire, and Commune de couteuges won 11 of the council's 11 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 38.5%, France Unbowed 15.5%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 12.4%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 15 points worse here than across France.
