Talence is a commune in Gironde with 26,026 registered voters, the 5th largest of the département's 534 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 54.1% of them voted, fewer than the 58.7% across Gironde, and Talence Ensemble won 36 of the council's 43 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 31.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 30%, National Rally 9.9%. National Rally did 13 points worse here than across France.
