Paillet is a commune in Gironde with 875 registered voters, the 213th largest of the département's 534 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 69.6% of them voted, more than the 58.7% across Gironde, and the list led by Fabienne Hurmic won 12 of the council's 15 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 30%, National Rally 25.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 19%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 9 points worse here than across France.
