Castelnau-de-Médoc is a commune in Gironde with 3,865 registered voters, the 58th largest of the département's 534 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 60.7% of them voted, more than the 58.7% across Gironde, and the list led by Laurine Jolly won 20 of the council's 27 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 28.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.6%, France Unbowed 20.9%. National Rally did 6 points better here than across France.
