Saint-Gilles is a commune in Gard with 9,564 registered voters, the 6th largest of the département's 349 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 53.5% of them voted, fewer than the 59.4% across Gard, and SAINT-GILLES PAR COEUR won 31 of the council's 33 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 36.8%, France Unbowed 23.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 16.4%. National Rally did 13 points better here than across France.
