Pujaut is a commune in Gard with 3,542 registered voters, the 36th largest of the département's 349 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 46% of them voted, fewer than the 59.4% across Gard, and Cher Pujaut, won 27 of the council's 27 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted Ensemble (Macron camp) 27.4%, National Rally 24.7%, France Unbowed 15.3%. France Unbowed did 7 points worse here than across France.
