Aigues-Vives is a commune in Gard with 2,629 registered voters, the 50th largest of the département's 349 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 67.3% of them voted, more than the 59.4% across Gard, and the list led by Magali Pradeille won 17 of the council's 23 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 30.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 23.2%, France Unbowed 19.4%. National Rally did 8 points better here than across France.
