Morsang-sur-Orge is a commune in Essonne with 12,779 registered voters, the 20th largest of the département's 194 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 52.9% of them voted, close to the 53.2% across Essonne, and Morsang Ville à Vivre won 28 of the council's 35 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted France Unbowed 29.9%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 23.9%, National Rally 20.1%. France Unbowed did 8 points better here than across France.
