Saint-Varent is a commune in Deux-Sèvres with 1,804 registered voters, the 27th largest of the département's 252 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 64.7% of them voted, more than the 57.3% across Deux-Sèvres, and ENSEMBLE, CONTINUONS POUR SAINT-VARENT won 15 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.
