Le Chillou is a commune in Deux-Sèvres with 144 registered voters, the 228th largest of the département's 252 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 68.1% of them voted, more than the 57.3% across Deux-Sèvres, and BIEN VIVRE ENSEMBLE won 11 of the council's 11 seats in the first round.
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 39%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 23%, France Unbowed 15%. National Rally did 16 points better here than across France.
