Plounérin is a commune in Côtes-d'Armor with 557 registered voters, the 202nd largest of the département's 341 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 81.9% of them voted, more than the 64.4% across Côtes-d'Armor, and Ensemble pour bien vivre à Plounérin won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 31.9%, France Unbowed 20.5%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 17.9%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 10 points worse here than across France.
