Plouaret is a commune in Côtes-d'Armor with 1,784 registered voters, the 71st largest of the département's 341 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 77.4% of them voted, more than the 64.4% across Côtes-d'Armor, and Tous Ensemble pour Plouaret won 15 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 26.1%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 23.3%, France Unbowed 22.3%. Ensemble (Macron camp) did 4 points worse here than across France.
