Maël-Carhaix is a commune in Côtes-d'Armor with 1,121 registered voters, the 120th largest of the département's 341 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 74.5% of them voted, more than the 64.4% across Côtes-d'Armor, and ENSEMBLE pour MAËL-CARHAIX won 13 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 27.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.4%, France Unbowed 22.8%. National Rally did 4 points better here than across France.
