Bocognano is a commune in Corse-du-Sud with 474 registered voters, the 46th largest of the département's 124 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 70% of them voted, close to the 69.4% across Corse-du-Sud, and AGIR ET VIVRE ENSEMBLE won 11 of the council's 11 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 25.8%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 21.4%, Others 16.2%. Others did 13 points better here than across France.
