Vernègues is a commune in Bouches-du-Rhône with 1,704 registered voters, the 101st largest of the département's 119 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 65.8% of them voted, more than the 56.2% across Bouches-du-Rhône, and ESEMBLE POUR L'AVENIR VERNEGUES-CAZAN won 15 of the council's 19 seats in the first round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 30.7%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 20.7%, France Unbowed 17.6%. National Rally did 7 points better here than across France.
