Virieu-le-Grand is a commune in Ain with 822 registered voters, the 167th largest of the département's 390 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 58.5% of them voted, more than the 52.5% across Ain, and NOUVEL ELAN POUR VIRIEU LE GRAND won 12 of the council's 15 seats in the first round.
