Villieu-Loyes-Mollon is a commune in Ain with 3,112 registered voters, the 29th largest of the département's 390 communes. At the municipal election of March 2026 61.9% of them voted, more than the 52.5% across Ain, and the list led by Philippe Bertron won 21 of the council's 27 seats after a second round.

In the first round of the 2022 presidential election the commune voted National Rally 31.6%, Ensemble (Macron camp) 25.8%, France Unbowed 14.7%. National Rally did 8 points better here than across France.
