Leiro is a municipality in the province of Ourense with 1,522 inhabitants, the 35th largest of its 92 municipalities. Its council has 9 seats, and 5 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PP came first with 59.1% of the vote and 6 seats, an absolute majority; PSDEG-PSOE was second with 2. 73.2% of the 1,332 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
