Maracena is a municipality in the province of Granada with 22,293 inhabitants, the 6th largest of its 174 municipalities. Its council has 21 seats, and 11 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 PSOE-A came first with 28.9% of the vote and 7 seats; PP was second with 6. 59.1% of the 17,228 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
