Elgoibar is a municipality in the province of Gipuzkoa with 11,480 inhabitants, the 18th largest of its 88 municipalities. Its council has 17 seats, and 9 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 EAJ-PNV came first with 42.9% of the vote and 8 seats; EH BILDU was second with 7. 61.9% of the 8,540 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
