El Astillero is a municipality in the province of Cantabria with 18,153 inhabitants, the 6th largest of its 102 municipalities. Its council has 17 seats, and 9 make a majority to choose the mayor.
In May 2023 CS came first with 70.1% of the vote and 15 seats, an absolute majority; PSOE was second with 1. 72.2% of the 14,267 voters on the roll cast a valid vote.
